One of my all-time favorite DA Polishers is the Porter Cable 7424Xp
The Porter Cable 7424XP Dual Action Polisher is considered by many to be a great beginner entry-level DA. It’s price point is certainly entry-level when compared to the more professional grade machines but I’m OK with that and I’m sure you will be too. If you plan on starting a detailing business or becoming a professional detailer, the 7424XP may not be your go-to polisher but it may be one of your backup DA’s. I run a smaller pad on mine because I prefer to use a 5″ backing plate with 5-5.5″ pads. I’ve seen pros use the 7424XP with 3″ pads for hard to reach spots, headlight restorations and even with a brush for carpet cleaning.
I’ve used most of the polishers on the market, and sure, there’s a number of machines out there with more power (less likely to stall) but they’re three times the price or more! Porter Cable states on their website that the variable speed settings range from 2,500 to 6,800 from the powerful 4.5 Amp motor.
